Social Connection in Roseville looking for local artists to create mural

The space will be surrounded by shipping container walls, which act as canvases for local artists, according to LRE & Companies.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Social Connection in Roseville is looking for local muralists to create an art piece for the project.

Social Connection is a gathering place featuring a beer garden anchored by Fieldwork Brewing Company. There will also be a variety of food and beverages in the beer garden.

The space will be surrounded by shipping container walls, which act as canvases for local artists, according to LRE & Companies.

“We are creating a space that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the region, and we want art to reflect that” Akki Patel, CEO of LRE & Companies, said in a statement. “We envision a vibrant gathering place with diverse food, food trucks, beverages, friends and family — all with a colorful backdrop that tells the story of this region.”

The theme for the space is “The Vibrancy of Northern California”

Interested artists can share their concepts over email or coordinate a time to deliver them in person by emailing arts@socialconnection.com by Aug. 1, 2024. Chosen artists will receive a stipend and the artwork is set to be revealed this fall.

“We know there is a lot of talent in the region and we cannot wait to see what concepts we get back,” Patel said in a statement. “This space will be all about community, and there is no other way to celebrate that than through storytelling through murals.”

Social Connection is part of Roseville Junction, a hospitality destination located at 290 Conference Center Drive. Besides Social Connection, the project will also include Electric Pickle, an entertainment complex with pickleball courts, and two hotels, among other amenities.

The Roseville Junction project broke ground in January 2024 and Social Connection and Electric Pickle are the first two projects set to be built, LRE & Companies previously told ABC10.
